The Mims Beginning is a God-like game with a dose of cosmic humor and untypical adventures.
The story takes place in an unknown space and time. In this galaxy mythical floating islands give shelter to all kinds of unusual and dangerous creatures.
The game combines numerous elements of gameplay. Your colonists act on their own most of the time, going about their duties without orders issued by the player. However, you can control them directly by issuing simple commands.
With a use of godlike PSI powers the player can influence living things in their range of power, aiding the colony. This feature is reminiscent of that found in “Populous the Beginning”.
The main focus of the game lies in expanding and defending the colony. Every building or plant placement counts, nevertheless the game falls more into a light strategy genre. Casual gamers will recognise numerous familiar aspects of gameplay that will require player's fast, on-the-spot decision making.
You assume the role of a leader of Mims settlement. The Mims are sympathetic, if not slightly clumsy creatures traveling through outer space in search of a friendly world to settle.
During the intergalactic voyage their spaceship is destroyed by an asteroid and the crew is forced to evacuate onto nearby planets, which hold their own share of surprises.
The player's goal is to perform various tasks necessary in repairing the spaceship. You begin by properly developing your new colonies. Every mission takes place on a different planet where isolated groups of castaways face their own fate.
The basic resource crucial to the colony's survival and development is energy. It is also essential to Mims’ vitality - used while performing work, as well as for maintaining proper functioning of the infrastructure. Vitality is obtained in generators using Bio Mass, derived, in turn, from special fruit processed in the Extractor. Part of the energy can also be obtained from wind flow thanks to correct placement of Wind Turbines.
The tasks performed by the Mims should include the expansion of the colony and picking up Bio fruits. Some of the Mims act as a protection against various and dangerous creatures attracted by the scent of fruit and animals.
The Mims’ knowledge allows them to create animals that feed on different types of fruit. Grown animals can be sent to the Space Market and exchanged for crystals essential in further growth of the colony.
In order to grow fruit for the animals, Mims will also need to sow seeds from various plant species. Among others, an exploding plant that hurls fruits around. Choosing good planting sites is then all the more important.
A clever leader is able to use topography effectibely, thereby avoiding excessive scattering of fruit all over the planet. In case of a bad placement, fruit crop can be lost due to fruit rolling off the edge of the planet.
As the ruler of the colony, you govern from the Psi Tower which greatly reinforces your supernatural abilities. You will have a range of powers at your disposal that can alter the environment of our planet.
If the crops are not harvested on time, they will soon rot away, resulting in a loss of precious resource.
Along the way you shall also gain access to new buildings, plants, acquire new Psi powers, as well as invent new skills for your Mims.

We would like to complete our light-strategy game placed in a fantastic world filled with humor and quirky adventures.
We aim for our game to be seriously challenging, but also to have a cartoonish, eye-candy quality.
Badly governed colony expansion may result with a crisis and chaos on our planet, in which case you might be forced to restart a map.
Even though the game features a lot of unique structures with wildly different functions, it holds to typical strategy game tenets. You can build structures, plant, invent technologies and seeds, protect your animal herds and sell them when they have grown.
Your colony's citizens can be converted into a special class - the guardians, whose sole purpose is to defend the rest of the population.
As the story progresses, Mims will find themselves facing threats from outer space. One of them is a meteor storm that can wreak havoc among your colonists. But with fortune on your side, they might also encounter showers of valuable fruits or gems. In order to be prepared, you can invent technology that allows you to predict such future events.
ABOUT MIMS:
Mims are little, kooky creatures with an unmistakable sense of humor. They are endowed with minor PSI powers that allow them to perform basic colony work and listen to their leaders' commands. In spite of their good intentions, their clumsiness often makes them fail miserably in carrying out their orders.

Nous souhaitons que notre jeu soit résolument difficile, mais qu'il ait aussi un look dessin animé, d'une qualité agréable aux yeux.
Mal régie, l'expansion d'une colonie peut entraîner une crise et le chaos sur notre planète, dans ce cas, vous pourriez être obligé de redémarrer une carte.
Même si le jeu dispose d'un grand nombre de structures uniques avec des fonctions très différentes, il obéit aux principes typiques des jeux de stratégie. Vous pouvez construire des structures, des installations, inventer des technologies et des graines, protéger vos troupeaux et les vendre quand ils ont grandi.
Les citoyens de votre colonie peuvent être convertis en une classe spéciale - les gardiens, dont le seul but est de défendre le reste de la population.

Les Mims sont de petites créatures dingues avec un sens de l'humour incomparable. Ils sont doués de pouvoirs psychiques mineurs qui leur permettent d'effectuer le travail de base de la colonie et d'écouter les commandes de leurs dirigeants. En dépit de leurs bonnes intentions, leur maladresse les poussent souvent à échouer lamentablement dans l'exécution de leurs ordres.
