Merging the award-winning, smash-hit, indie game The Escapists with the worldwide phenomenon that is The Walking Dead, Team17 have taken the very best of both worlds and are now providing players with the opportunity to play Rick Grimes as he takes on hordes of zombies let loose upon the world.
In this unique game, recreated entirely in the charming 8-bit pixel art style of The Escapists, Rick is in charge of a band of survivors featuring many of the original comic book cast. He must secure the safety of the group by seeking out a safe escape route from each area, and manage several dangerous tasks to keep as many of the group alive as possible. The game faithfully matches the timeline of the comics and so as the player makes progress in the game they play through locations that mirror the progress of the band of the survivors taken from the award-winning comic’s epic story.

En fusionnant le jeu Indie primé - The Escapists, avec le phénomène mondial qu'est la franchise The Walking Dead, le studio Team17 a pris le meilleur des deux mondes et offre à présent aux joueurs l'opportunité d'incarner Rick Grimes (NdT : le policier de la série télévisée / de la bande dessinée), alors qu'il se trouve confronté à des hordes de zombies se déversant sur le monde.
Dans ce jeu unique, entièrement recréé dans un charmant style 8 bits artistique du jeu The Escapists, Rick est en charge d'un groupe de survivants dont nombre d'entre eux sont issus de la bande dessinée originale. Il doit assurer la sécurité du groupe en recherchant une échappée sûre dans chaque région, et gérer plusieurs tâches dangereuses en maintenant en vie autant que possible le plus grand nombre de son groupe. Le jeu correspond fidèlement à la chronologie de la bande dessinée, ainsi lorsque le joueur progresse dans le jeu, il joue au travers de lieux reflétant les progrès de la bande de survivants tirés de l'histoire épique de la bande dessinée primée.
