Professional audio processing software and plugins for linux.
➯ DYN4000 - Console dynamics plugin
Based on channel dynamics processing from one of the best-known British recording consoles, the DYN4000 comprises compressor / limiter and expander / gate sections.
The plugin includes a true RMS side-chain detector, while the compressor provides a switchable soft / hard knee characteristic, ensuring smooth onset of compression at the threshold point or more aggressive dynamics control on demand.
Switchable fast attack settings are provided as is variable programme dependent release.
An expander / gate section provides a 1:2 downward expander or a 1:∞ gate setting with threshold hysteresis.
The download contains 32 and 64Bit Mono and Stereo LV2 and linuxVST versions.
➯ AF2-10 Analogue Filter Modelling Graphical EQ with FFT
AF2-10 - Overview:
The AF2-10 provides ten bands of high precision equalization using our Analogue Filter Modelling algorithms to recreate the natural sound of analogue filters while providing the convenience of a modern graphical interface together with a realtime FFT spectrum analyser.
Analogue Filters:
Though much has been made by some plugin developers about aspects of conventional EQ design (often citing alarmist terms such as comb filtering - which has no place in any rational discussion of EQ technologies), the inescapable fact, borne out by many decades of high quality mixes made on original analogue equipment, is that analogue filters simply sound more natural - often than the linear-phase designs put forward as alternatives, which can themselves exhibit undesirable artefacts such as 'pre-ringing' which should be a much more serious concern.
The filters in the AF2-10 make use of our analogue filter modelling technology to recreate the natural sound of analogue filter designs with the precision of modern digital algorithms. This is achieved without requiring high sample rates or CPU intensive upsampling within the plugin, permitting more plugin instances in a typical DAW session.
Hand-drawn EQs
The AF2-10 is not a 'hand-drawn' EQ. Such EQ designs often make much of their ability to provide an arbitrary 'freehand' EQ curve. For almost all conventional EQ tasks this is exactly what you don't want to do. The results are, more often than not, unnatural sounding and difficult to adjust. Imagine a drawing program which only allowed drawing circles freehand. The results would likely not be pretty - or accurate, yet this is exactly what you are doing to the audio with a freehand EQ curve. Or, try sweeping a freehand EQ filter to locate a troublesome frequency, or even perform a simple Q / Bandwidth adjustment.
By contrast, the AF2-10 models a wide range of standard filter types providing intuitive, precise, accurate and repeatable adjustment, often with a single mouse click or movement.
➯ PEQ-2A Pultec style EQ for linux Digital Audio Workstations
Classic signature sounds, inspired by one of the world's most sought-after vintage EQs, now brought to linux.
The PEQ-2A represents a milestone in linux audio software development. Pultec EQs have earned a deserved reputation as an essential piece of studio equipment. Now the signature sound of one of the most sought-after vintage EQs is available for linux audio workstations.
