Robocraft is a free online game where you can build awesome robots from cubes, jump in and drive them, and then take them into epic battles online.

Game Modes

There are currently five game modes in Robocraft, with a sixth currently in development. These can be chosen via the Battle Menu:

Ranked Modes

Battle Mode

Battle mode is Robocraft stepping into its MOBA shoes, hence this is one of two game modes where respawning and overclocking are active. Several objectives are unique to this game mode, such as overclocking, and capturing fusion towers. A team wins when the enemy's protonium reactor is deplated. This is accomplished when all attached Protonium Crystals are destroyed. This is the only game mode where players can earn a ranked placement in the league system. Currently, games can last anywhere from 5 to 40+ minutes depending on the tier and skill level of the teams. However, the fusion shields that protect the protonium reactor are disabled after 30 minutes. Due to the greater number of mechanics at play, many more strategies are available and teamwork is even more prized.

Of all of the game modes, this rewards the greatest amount of RP in a single battle.

Unranked Modes

Team Deathmatch

Originally "Classic Mode", Team Deathmatch is the first multiplayer game mode for new players before Battle Mode. Survival is key in this elimination based game mode, as both respawning and overclocking are disabled. Victory is earned through one of two objectives: the elimination of all enemy team members, or a successful base capture. These battles are much shorter than Battle Mode and last an average of 5 to 10 minutes. Megabots entering this game mode will sometimes be placed in a 1v1 Megabot vs Megabot duel instead of a T10 + Mega vs T10 + Mega battle. This mode has no overclocking, re-spawning, fusion shields, or fusion towers.

The Pit

This is an all out free-for-all brawl for robots with a robot ranking above 30 million. Respawning is enabled in this game mode. Unlike other battle types, The Pit has no end timer, instead ending when one players accumulates 20 points.

Challenge Battle

4 higher tier bots VS 12 lower tier bots. To enter as a challenger, your robot has to be Tier 6 or higher. The low-tier bots will be two tiers beneath, randomly chosen from players of that tier queued up for Classic mode. There is an 4 hour cool-down time between challenger entries. To win the game as a challenger, you must either destroy all enemy bots or defend your base until the match timer runs out. As the low tier, win the game by destroying all of the challengers' bots or by capturing the enemy base before match timer runs out. This game mode is very challenging for both challenger team and the low tier team as it requires a great deal of teamwork.

Megaboss Battle

1 Tier TX-1 (Megabot) VS 15 tier 6 players - Currently, this gamemode is said to be broken (May-2015) as it is possible to fight against a full team of T10s. It has an 8 hour cooldown time, similarly to challenge battles.

Local Modes

Test Robot

A simple "Holo-level" that has no terrain textures, instead a graph-paper looking texture that one can test their robot in, providing a climbing wall for walker robots to climb, terrain features, targets, and even a jump.

Single Player

• Single Player - Fight against AI-controlled bots from the CRF robot shop, of similar ranking to that of your robot. Bots here are only ground-based SMGs. You are awarded money for each kill you achieve in this game mode once you return to mothership. You are able to respawn, but doing so resets a counter, with your total kills before dying/respawning. There is also a highscore counter, where the most amount of kills before respawning/dying you have ever had is displayed. You are able to overclock in this gamemode.

Future Modes

The Hub

This game mode will be a all out social server which allows friends to gather and show off bots and designs to others, everyone in this game mode is on the blue team so that they cannot harm one another. This game mode is planned for release as an extension of the new META.

Steam:

Build insane robot battle vehicles that drive, hover, walk and fly! Add weapons from the future and jump in the driving seat as you take your bot into battle against other players in this competitive free-to-win action game.

BUILD - A futuristic robot battle vehicle from cubes, add wheels, thrusters, wings, legs, tank tracks, rail cannons and plasma launchers
DRIVE - Jump into the pilot seat of your robot and drive it into battle in jet cars, tanks, flying warships, helicopters, drones; anything your imagination desires.
FIGHT - Battle online in massively multiplayer mayhem against players from all over the world on dedicated servers.

🌍️ Wikipedia:

Robocraft is an online third-person vehicle shooter game set on fictional areas of different planets where players construct machines that are used to fight with others in battles. It is currently an open-alpha game, and is being developed and published by the indie video game developer Freejam Games based in the United Kingdom. The game features contained garages in which players can build various functional vehicles with basic block-based parts (such as cubes and wheels) along with weapons that can be used for combat. The initial alpha build was released in March 2013, featuring a single-player building and test mode. In April 2013, Freejam Games released multiplayer combat, which is now the core content of the game. Content updates and bug fixes for the game are released a few times each month. On April 14, 2014, the company revealed that Robocraft had gained over 300,000 players in a few months; the game continues to attract many players, notably, international players from non-English speaking countries. It is also available as a Steam platform release.

Gameplay

Robocraft is a "build, drive, fight" game where the players engage in online battles in order to gain Robot Points (RP) and experience to further advance their levels. With each level, the player unlocks better components and hardware blocks such as weapons and electroplates from the tech tree, which they can then purchase with Robot Points. Parts can also be purchased with "Galaxy Cash (GC)", an in-game currency that must be purchased with real money or by selling or renting a robot in the community robot factory; some cosmetic items are only purchasable with Galaxy Cash. The player is given the freedom to customize their vehicle or robot in any way they like, as long as it does not exceed their in-game CPU limit. The player's CPU limit increases as the player levels up, and it restricts the player from adding too much complexity to their vehicle. Robots are battle rated via a Robot ranking system based upon arbitrary values of all components currently on their robot.

The game features a part-based damage model. To achieve a kill, 75% of the total cubes worth of CPU must be destroyed. The damage model permits creativity and significant engineering in the areas of damage distribution and redirection. Robocraft has five game modes at present (Team Deathmatch, Battle Arena, The Pit, Single-Player and Test). Players can acquire RP through all game modes except for Test; Single-Player mode allows the player to test their robot against AI robots before battling with other players.

In a "Battle Arena", gameplay is much more complex. Each team's base has a "Protonium Reactor", which is a large cluster of destructible crystals. A match is won when a team's reactor is completely destroyed. The reactor is protected by a "Fusion Shield". Players are healed by the fusion shield at their base, which is also impenetrable by enemy fire from the outside. Throughout the map, there are three "Fusion Towers." The Fusion Towers are similar to Protonium Reactors in that they are collections of destructible crystals. When these crystals are destroyed, ownership of the destroyed tower is transferred to the team which captured it. Each team must have at least one fusion tower to maintain their fusion shield.

In a Team Deathmatch battle (TDM), the player's team wins once all enemy vehicles are destroyed, or the enemy's base is captured by the team. TDM was the core game mode, and was renamed from "Classic" after the "Respawned and Overclocked" update.

There are several different weapon classes (Laser, Plasma Launcher, Rail Cannon, Nanotech Disruptor, Aeroflak Cannon, Lock-on Missile Launcher and Tesla Blades) and several different propulsion systems (Thrusters, Wheels, Skis, Caterpillar Tracks, Hover Blades, Aerofoils, Rudders, Walker Legs, Mech Legs and Rotor Blades). While weapons cannot be mix-and-matched (the update "Maximum Loadout" is going to change this), with the exception of the Tesla Blades (A secondary weapon until "Maximum Loadout"), propulsion systems can be combined to create hybrids. (Such as a Walker-Flyer, a robot that can fly with Aerofoils and climb with Insect Legs)

The player can friend other players or add up to 2 other players to their platoon (3 total, up to 4 with a premium subscription), meaning that they can be guaranteed to fight on the same team in the same battle as the other people in the platoon.

As well as enemy radars and radar jammers, the game features a "spotting" mechanic, allowing players to highlight a specific enemy and alerts their team-mates about the enemy's presence, both by placing a hexagon blip on the minimap which designates the spotted player's location for a specified amount of time, a username overlay will also appear above the player, and a voice prompt from the announcer saying "Enemy spotted" to the team which had spotted the enemy. (the voice previously stated the movement and weapon type of the spotted player, for example, "Plasma Bomber Spotted". A player who has been spotted has an exclamation mark appear in the bottom middle of their UI which slowly fades over time with an accompanying siren sound if the player is spotted.

📕 Description [fr]

The Pit (Le Trou)
