📕 Description [en]

📕🐧"blabla"🐧📕

“Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today” is an in progress 2D graphic adventure to be released for PC, Mac and iOS (iPad). The game features mechanics very similar to those displayed in old-school classics like “Day of the Tentacle”, “Monkey Island” and “Broken Sword”:

• point and click interface
• inventory
• puzzles that help the story move along
• dialog trees

Aside from these classics, at Fictiorama we have always loved games that dare to treat darker, more mature subjects such as “I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream” or “Sanitarium.”

So we’ve combined the two influences in “Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today” and we are creating a sci-fi point and click adventure which is dark, violent, and even gruesome.

STORY

A terrible pandemic is turning all of humanity into the Dissolved – the sick whose deliria provide them with supernatural cognitive powers… but also steer them towards a gruesome death.

The root of this illness seems to be the Great Wave, an inexplicable chain of natural disasters that destroyed all energy sources and communications and plunged the world into a chaos ruthlessly controlled by both the authorities and the army alike.

So the player will have to help Michael, a man with no past, recover his identity and decode the events that brought the world to the edge of collapse. Because, if Michael doesn’t hurry, he won’t be able to avoid the impending moment of dead synchronicity… when Time itself dissolves.

Influences: Joseph Conrad, Phillip K. Dick, Tarkovski, Terry Gilliam, terror movies from the 70s and 80s (including Italian giallo)… and all those great point and click adventures we enjoyed during the 90s, and we still enjoy today.

PLOT

“Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today” is the first installment of the “Dead Synchronicity” saga. It tells the story of Michael, a man with no past, who must recover his identity and decode the two events that brought the world to the edge of collapse. The first one is the so-called “Great Wave,” an inexplicable chain of natural disasters. The second is a pandemic that has turned humans into “the Dissolved,” infected beings with special cognitive powers whose sick bodies will eventually dissolve into blood. If Michael doesn’t hurry, he won’t be able to avoid the impending moment of “dead synchronicity” when Time itself starts to dissolve.

As players, you’re going to find space-time distortions, concentration camps, supernatural phenomena, gruesome deaths, hard-to-solve puzzles and, all in all, a bloodstained challenge!

APPROACH

Besides this more mature approach, our goal is to recover the “open world” feeling of free roaming that classic point and click adventures had. We want to give you the liberty to interact with plenty of locations and characters and to face different puzzles simultaneously, just like in old-school adventures.

ART

“Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow comes Today” features a distinctive, 2D style that fits the game’s mood. The characters are geometric, hard, angular and are somewhat inspired in expressionism. The locations have a rusty look that corresponds with the desolate society “the Great Wave” has left behind, both physically and morally.

MUSIC

We’re lucky to have two members of the indie rock band Kovalski in our crew. So the atmospheric, moody soundtrack is being written as we develop the game, instead of being outsourced when the game is finished, as many other companies do. This way, the music of the game, influenced by the orchestral rock of the 70’s and the Italian Giallo soundtracks, is intensely linked to the game’s plot and art.

Gog.com:

About: Darkness.
And then there was light… but not enough for Michael to find out who he is and what happened to the world out there. The “Great Wave”, the “dissolved”... are just hollow words in his looted mind.
"Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today" is the first part of the "Dead Synchronicity" series: help Michael face a dying reality, a universe that’s fading away. Face a merciless world that gets sick and vanishes. Face no past, no present, no future. Face the impending moment of “dead synchronicity”. And you’d better hurry. Because, otherwise... what will you do when Time dissolves itself?
A terrible pandemic is turning all of humanity into “the dissolved” - the sick whose deliria provide them with supernatural cognitive powers... but also steer them towards a gruesome death.

📕 Description [fr]

Ce jeu rend hommage à des jeux d'aventure classiques (The Secret of Monkey Island, Les Chevaliers de Baphomet, Day of the Tentacle…) mais dont le thème est plus noir, dans la lignée d'I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream et autre Sanitarium.
